Preparation For New Pastor
What is the “new thing” that you have perceived God doing?
God is guiding us to examine our congregation’s strengths and weaknesses, needs, mission and goals for the future; He is preparing us for a new Pastor.
How are you cooperating with God in this activity? How can other Christians and
congregations help?
We value and embrace the support of the Synod to keep us focused on God’s mission. We
are engaging in activities of self-examination, introspection and discernment.
From where did this “new thing” spring forth? What need is God acting to meet through this activity?
Retirement of one of our Pastors at Douglass. God is causing us to examine our leadership, our needs and our future direction.
What can you share to help others meeting this need?
Accept help – we cannot do this alone. Allow God to speak to us personally through prayer and to the congregation through Synod resources and Pastors.
What have you learned through this activity? Is there anything that you would do differently knowing what you know now?
- We have learned that we have a lot to learn;
- We have learned that Synod has resources to assist us and to accept that assistance;
- Havingco-pastors is making this transition much easier (we hope);
- Keep an open mind.
